How it works

Enroll with Zelle®.

  • Sign in to Online Banking or login to the FirstBank app
  • Go to "Send Money with Zelle®" in Online Banking or the Zelle® tab in the app
  • Agree to terms and conditions
  • Register your account
  • Verify security code
  • Send and receive payments straight to your bank account

Request & Receive Payments.

  • Provide your U.S. mobile number or email address to your customer and let them know you accept payments with Zelle®.
  • You can also send your customer a payment request by selecting "Send Money with Zelle®" then "Request." Enter your customer's U.S. mobile number or email address and the amount they owe you, review, then hit "Request." If your customer isn't enrolled yet, you can only send a request using their email address.
  • When your customer sends payment or responds to the payment request with a payment, the money will be sent directly to your FirstBank account, typically in minutes.2

Send Money.1

  • Select an eligible business or consumer by entering their U.S. mobile number or email address.
  • Enter the amount you'd like to send and an optional memo.
  • Review, ensure you've entered the correct email address or U.S. mobile number for the recipient, then hit "Send."

Tip: Useful for refunds, supplier payments, payroll and any payment that you need to make to a consumer or business you trust!

What is Zelle®?

Zelle® is a fast, safe and easy way for eligible business customers to send, request, and receive money directly between eligible bank accounts in the U.S.1 If your customers use Zelle® within their mobile banking app, they can send payments directly to your FirstBank account with just your email address or U.S. mobile phone number. With Zelle®, money typically arrives within minutes. 2

How do I use Zelle® with an eligible FirstBank business account?

You can send, request, or receive money with Zelle®. To get started, log into FirstBank's Online Banking or Mobile App and select "Send Money with Zelle®." Agree to the terms and conditions, then enter your email address or U.S. mobile phone number. You will receive a one-time verification code, enter it and you're ready to start using Zelle®.

Who can I send money to with Zelle® when I have an eligible FirstBank business bank account?

When you use Zelle® with an eligible FirstBank business account, you can send money to other eligible businesses that bank with a financial institution that offers Zelle® to their business customers. You can also send to consumers that have access to Zelle® through their mobile banking app. At this time, we don't support sending to (or receiving from) consumers that are only enrolled in the Zelle® app using a debit card.

If the eligible business or consumer you send money to has already enrolled with Zelle® through their bank's mobile app, the money is sent directly to their bank account and cannot be canceled. It's important to only send money to people you trust, and always ensure you've used the correct email address or U.S. mobile number when sending money.

I have an eligible FirstBank business bank account. Who can I receive payments from with Zelle®?

You can receive payments from consumers using Zelle® through their bank's mobile app. You can also receive payments from other eligible businesses if their financial institution offers Zelle® to their business custiomers. At this time, you're not able to receive payments from consumers that are only enrolled in the Zelle® app using a debit card.

How long does it take to receive payments with Zelle®?

Once you're enrolled with Zelle®, money you receive is typically available within minutes.2

How do I receive payments with Zelle®?

First, you should enroll with Zelle® through the FirstBank's Online Banking or Mobile App. Second, share your enrolled email address or U.S. mobile phone number with your customers and ask them to send you payments with Zelle® right from their banking app. You don't need to share any sensitive account details; they can send you money by using your enrolled email address or U.S. mobile phone number to identify you. After the consumer sends you a payment with Zelle®, you will receive your money directly into your enrolled bank account.

You can also request payments directly through the FirstBank Mobile App or Online Banking by clicking "Send Money with Zelle®," selecting "Request", entering your customer's email address or U.S. mobile number, confirming the recipient is correct (their name or their email address/U.S. mobile number will pop up - make sure it's the person or business you want to request payment from) and select "request".3

If your customer is using Zelle® through their bank's mobile app, they'll be able to pay you with Zelle®. You'll receive a payment notification once your customer has sent you money in response to your request. If your customer is enrolled in the Zelle® app with their debit card (not with a deposit account), they will not be able to send you money with Zelle®, and you should arrange for a different payment method.

Disclosures

  1. To send or receive money with a small business, both parties must be enrolled with Zelle® directly through their financial institution's online or mobile banking experience.
  2. U.S. checking or savings account required to use Zelle®. Transactions between enrolled consumers typically occur in minutes.
  3. In order to send payment requests to a U.S. mobile number, the mobile number must already be enrolled in Zelle®.
